What to look for
Solar has shifted from a luxury to infrastructure in Zimbabwe, and the quality gap between installers is wide. A competent installer sizes the system to your actual daily consumption rather than selling a package, is explicit about whether you are getting a hybrid or fully off-grid setup, and puts the inverter and battery specifications in writing before any money changes hands. Ask what happens to the warranty if a panel fails in year three, and whether they return for servicing or only for sales. Be wary of quotes that price the panels prominently and leave the battery, mounting and labour vague — batteries are usually the largest single cost and the first component quietly substituted for something cheaper.
