Privacy policy

If you create an account: your email address, and a display name if you provide one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google. We never see your password — authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.

If you list a business: the business details you enter, including a phone number, and optionally an address, email, website and images. This information is published and is intended to be public.

If you leave a review or vouch: your rating and text, published alongside a display name.

Automatically: aggregate performance measurements about page loading. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.

To operate the directory: to publish listings, show reviews, let people sign in, and prevent abuse. Phone verification exists to make fake listings harder to create, and to give users a signal they can weigh.

Where the law requires a basis for processing, ours is the performance of our agreement with you for account and listing data, and our legitimate interest in running a trustworthy directory and preventing fraud for the rest.

Listings, reviews, vouches and the display name attached to them are public by design — that is the point of a directory. Your email address is never published. Treat anything you enter into a listing as public information.

Data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the europe-west2 (London) region. The site is hosted by Vercel. Authentication and abuse prevention use Firebase Authentication and Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA.

These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Because our users are in Zimbabwe and abroad, data may be transferred across borders. Where that involves personal data of people in the UK or EU, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual protections.

Account and listing data is kept while the account is open. If you close your account we delete the account and unpublish the listings. Reviews may be retained in anonymised form, because deleting them would distort the record other people relied on.

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to complain to your data protection authority.

To make a request, contact us through the contact page. We may need to verify who you are before acting.

We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the site to work and is not used for advertising or tracking. If you sign out, it is removed.

MUZIVI is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. We will not reduce your rights under it without telling you.
